Larry Malmos
>Plant Manager
> Larry has made a lifetime commitment to
the label business, having begun his career at Lancer Label when he was only 18 years
old. He started
in the finishing department as a rewinding and finishing
machine operator and quickly moved up to press support and
then a press operator – running various flexography
printing presses for Lancer. He had risen to a Supervisor of three press shifts in
1993 when Doug Riley recruited Larry to Impressive Labels as
the Press Room Manager. In that position, he was responsible for all
converting processes, and was instrumental in expanding
Impressive’s capabilities into flexography printing. At that time, Impressive was well known in the
industry for its screen print and letterpress printing
awards and excellence. Larry’s work with Impressive helped them become
equally well-known in the flexography printing process.
In 1999, Larry left Impressive to take a position as Vice
President of Manufacturing for another label company. But he soon returned to Impressive to assume the role
of Plant Manager. “I guess I missed the diversity and challenge of
Impressive’s multiple and demanding applications,” Larry
comments. “I don’t think any other company has the diverse applications
that Impressive has – and for people like me who thrive on
challenges and new ideas, Impressive is the best place to
be.”
